The CAP Experience

The College Awareness Experience occurs every spring. On average, 10-18 students are selected based on grades and community involvement to participate in this unique experience designed to give participants a firsthand look at what it’s like to live on a college campus. Unlike most college tours, CAP offers students the rare opportunity to travel to different college campuses and become a part of the college life for a week. The participants receive dorm housing and meals, sit in on class sessions, and attend events while visiting the schools. Students also meet with academic advisors regarding admission opportunities. Some students have been awarded onsite admission. Participants also enjoy some of the regional activities such as sightseeing and visiting local museums.

The participants are chaperoned by members from the CAP Board throughout their experience. Participants pay only partial expenses to cover housing, most meals, and travel costs.
