Congratulations to Dr. Dorothy Cowser Yancy, Longstanding Supporter of CAP!

On Saturday, April 11, 2015, CAP attended an award ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina for former Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) President Dr. Dorothy Cowser Yancy. JCSU named its information and technology hall in honor of Dr. Yancy. The technology center was one of many facilities built on campus during her tenure at the University. She also upgraded the technical capabilities of the school by making JCSU the first HBCU to become an IBM “Thinkpad” University. As a result, every undergraduate student received a laptop.

During the ceremony, CAP presented a small token of appreciation to Dr. Yancy for her invaluable contributions to the program. Dr. Yancy has supported CAP for more than a decade, traveling to Oakland, CA on several occasions to participate in its College Night.
